 BODEOVERALL VERTICAL DIMENSIONS Width: 50" Height: 60" Acrylic paint and graphite ​ Snowstorms and snowboarding inspired the tonal black and white swirls of artist Ksenia Sizaya's "Bode" painting. "When a snowstorm starts in the mountains, it is not always violent. Sometimes it's a blanket that falls from above," she explains. The "looming obsidian shapes" call to mind mountain ridges, dark rocks and tree trunks still visible in the storm, rendered in layers of thick acrylic paint. |

"It covers windows, lakes and ponds, and gives an otherworldly look to the landscape and surroundings." In "Swell," she incorporates pooled paint and dry brushing to create a highly textured interpretation of the world in winter. |
